AWS Engineer - Engineering

Los Angeles, CA

Loko AI is pioneering Human Behavior Recognition using Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. Our proprietary platform takes any video input and instantly provides actionable insights for risk management, security, surveillance, public safety, automation and consumer insights.  Loko AI is located in California, with two offices in the sunny Los Angeles and the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area (Silicon Valley). The Engineering Team contributes directly to Loko’s mission by building and deploying our commercial products. The Engineering Team is searching for an experienced Cloud Engineer to contribute in developing the next generation of our vision-based AI-powered human behavior analysis pipeline.

The AWS Cloud Engineer is a full-stack engineer that works with Data, Engineering, Design and the Product Teams to build our serverless, on-demand platform. As an integral part of the Engineering Team, the Cloud Engineer works with internal and external stakeholders to develop commercial ready software that is instantly available worldwide. The candidate needs to have hands-on, AWS experience with the depth and breadth to build, evaluate and maintain complex cloud environments and technology stacks. As an expert in backend technologies as well as HTML5, JavaScript, and Node.js, the successful candidate will be using Python, RESTful API, Docker, and more, in a DevOps, CI/CD, Agile Development Environment. The team uses Human-Centered Design approaches led by our talented Design team to implement highly modern, usable interfaces for Desktop, Web & Mobile. The candidate requires to interact with other team members to implement such interface designs into products. This position is contract to hire full-time.

Responsibilities:  

  • Cloud development building high-volume, serverless, on-demand architecture built on AWS
  • Ability to take a concept and turn it into a finished commercial product
  • Work closely with our Product, Design and Data Teams and build the next generation of products

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of programming experience
  • 5+ years with Python, and Java
  • 3+ years AWS: CloudFormation, Lambda, Fargate, DynamoDB, RedShift

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certification
  • Proficiency working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Expertise working as part of a dynamic, interactive Agile team developing and delivering digital services
  • Excellent coding practices including design patterns and unit testing
  • Strong Experience working in Linux
  • MS Computer Science, or related field

Sr. Software Engineer - Engineering

The Engineering Team is searching for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to contribute in developing the next generation of our vision-based AI-powered human behavior analysis pipeline.

The Senior Software Engineer is a full-stack engineer with UI/UX experience that works with Data, Engineering, Design and the Product Teams to build our platform-independent human behavior recognition system. As an integral part of the Engineering Team, the Senior Software Engineer works with internal and external stakeholders to develop commercial ready software. The candidate needs to have hands-on, full-stack UI/UX experience with the depth and breadth to evaluate complex environments and technology stacks. The Senior Software Engineer needs to have a deep understanding of how to build, code, and maintain efficient services and solutions. As an expert in backend technologies as well as HTML5, JavaScript, and Node.js, the successful candidate will be using C++, Python, RESTful API, Docker, and more, in a DevOps, CI/CD, Agile Development Environment. The team uses Human-Centered Design approaches led by our talented Design team to implement highly modern, usable interfaces for Desktop, Web & Mobile. Senior Computer Vision Engineer – Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and implements deep learning methods for generative models, motion aware video analysis and reinforcement learning
  • Ability to take a model from ideation through to parameter tuning
  • Work with engineering, design, operations and marketing and other teams to optimize and execute our commercial software deployment
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Python and deep learning platforms (e.g., PyTorch and Tensorflow)
  • Demonstrated experience with architecting and developing deep neural networks
  • In-depth understanding of fundamental computer vision algorithms and technologies 
  • 2+ years industry work experience
  • Experience working independently with minimum supervision and leading multiple projects simultaneously involving various groups/locations/vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cloud Services such as Azure or AWS are highly preferred
  • Experience in the human activity recognition, pose estimation, and video processing
  • PhD or MS Computer Science or related field
  • Strong publication record in conferences and journals such as CVPR, NeuraIPS, etc.

Project Manager – Product

Los Angeles, CA

The Product Team contributes directly to Loko’s mission by bringing our commercial products to market. The Product Team is searching for an experienced and entrepreneurial Project Manager to work with internal and external stakeholders to deploy our solutions. This individual will be responsible for working with a cross-functional team including engineering, data, design, marketing and operations to operationalize the strategy to support the delivery of complex software and integration into client hardware environments. Ideal candidates are organized thinkers who can break down complex problems, build solutions, deliver actionable and data-driven insights, and working in a dynamic environment.

The Project Manager is a natural leader, fearless and has a winning personality. You will oversee the engineering, data and design teams’ output and coordinate with Marketing and Sales to deliver groundbreaking software. This person must be and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse team. We’re looking for someone who is methodical and precise but at the same time is motivated by the prospect of disrupting the global video analytics market. This position is full-time.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineering, design, operations and marketing and other teams to optimize and execute our commercial software deployment and physical installations.  
  • Establish project plans for every client and installation
  • Lead and manage large-scale, organization-wide projects through planning, development, launch, stabilization and close.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects that require inputs from multiple stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders inside and out
  • Consult with stakeholders on their current operations, suggest improvements, and partner on change management
  • Assist with escalated issues on priorities, goals, strategies, resources and key initiatives
  • Streamline internal communication strategies and channels

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA or BS Degree
  • 8+ years experience in the tech/media industry
  • Experience building relationships at all levels of an organization
  • Communication and presentation experience, and experience clarifying and summarizing issues
  • PMP, PMI, Six Sigma certification and/or relative project management/process improvement experience
  • Strategic, analytical and problem solving experience
  • Experience working cross-functionally and holding people accountable for deliverables without a formal reporting structure
  • Experience working independently with minimum supervision and leading multiple projects simultaneously involving various groups/locations/vendors/clients

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and can deal with ambiguity
  • Experience with Real-Time Computer Graphics
